Open Classroom

I haven't had much time for blogging lately... or much time to respond to emails... I have been busy working at the gas station and driving school bus...

Yesterday (Wednesday) J4's PreK teachers came for a home visit... he refused to visit with them, he went right back upstairs and sat on his bed until they left. Today and tomorrow are open classroom days from 8:00 to 11:30 so I figured it would be a good idea to take him in and let him play and hopefully interact with the teachers and if other kids were there to interact with the other kids... we went this morning at 8:30 and he went right in... he put together 2 puzzles and then moved on to Lego's, Mrs.B kept talking to him about different things and talking to him about what he was doing but he never responded to her or acknowledged her, every time he spoke he started it with Mommy ( so no one else would think he was talking to them ) but finally once he started playing with Lego's and Mrs.B got on the floor with him and was building also he started talking to her ( did you hear that sigh of relief?)

Here is J4 and Mrs.B playing with Lego's... I couldn't get him to look at the camera long enough to catch a picture...



and then after playing with the little tiny Lego's he moved onto some medium sized Lego's and then moved onto the jumbo Lego's... do you think he was having fun??? lol



I finally told him at 10:00 that we had to go ( and he had to go potty), he wasn't too happy about leaving but he didn't fight me on it luckily... I told him we would go back again tomorrow morning for open classroom... PreK starts on Monday, it will be an early dismissal at 12:00 and then Tuesday will be a full regular day. He did meet 2 little girls in his class... Anna and Alyssa... but he ignored them...
